Babylonstoren recently opened a new wine tasting room. It is a modern glass building elevated above a vineyard with magnificent views of the estate and surrounding mountains. Here you can taste their wines in a relaxed, comfortable environment. Snacks are also available if you want to nibble on something while savoring the wine. I also noticed some fireplaces, which I think will be great during wintertime with a glass of Nebukadnesar, their flagship Bordeaux blend.

You should also check out the adjacent wine sales center where they have some interesting, historical farm implements on display and hanging from the ceiling.

Babylonstoren is a Cape Dutch Farm with vineyards and orchards. It lies in the Drakenstein Valley between Franschhoek and Paarl, South Africa.

See their website for more details: Babylonstoren

Pumpkins are in season. See all shapes and sizes in a very innovative display, currently at "The Puff Adder" in the magnificent gardens of Babylonstoren. (13 March 2016)
