De Waal Wines, situated on Uiterwyk Estate in the cool Stellenbosch Kloof Valley, has been a De Waal family concern since 1864.
Owned by Pieter de Waal, this historic family legacy boasts nine generations of passionate winemakers, entirely focused on delighting their patrons by offering exceptional wines.

De Waal is renowned for the classic style of its Pinotage wines, the only indigenous South African grape variety. Uiterwyk is also the home of Top of the Hill Pinotage, made from the oldest Pinotage vines in the world. (See photos below.)

DeWaal Pinotage 2012 - The De Waal Pinotage is a medium bodied wine with flavours of ripe plums and cherries. The palate is rich, with a lingering finish and well integrated tannins.
DeWaal Top Of The Hill Pinotage 2013 - Dark-coloured wine with intense plum and black fruit flavours, as well as dark chocolate, spice and a hint of cigar box. A wonderful rich wine with many different layers and long finish.
DeWaal Merlot 2014 - Beautiful berry and plum flavours on a rich middle palate, with a smooth and lingering finish.
DeWaal Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 - The De Waal Cabernet Sauvignon is a classically made wine which is dark red in colour. It is a full bodied wine with flavours of cassis and dark fruit. The palate is intense, with a lingering finish and well integrated tannins.
DeWaal Signal Rock 2009 - A Cabernet Sauvignon based blend with intense black fruit and berry flavours, spice and white pepper. A rich, well-structured, wine with long finish.
