The highly anticipated 2017 South Africa Special Report by leading UK Master of Wine Tim Atkin was published on 13 September, and Anthonij Rupert Wyne received an impressive rating of 90+ for eleven of its wines.

The Cape of Good Hope Van Lill & Visser Chenin Blanc 2016, with the highest rating of 95/100, was also listed as one of Atkins’ Wines of the Year in the Chenin Blanc category. Seven of the 11 wines to receive this remarkable rating are from the Cape of Good Hope range, which is testament to the Cape’s exceptional terroir.

‘The South African wine scene has never been more exciting or more diverse. Both at home and overseas, there is a growing awareness of the winemaking and viticultural revolution that is unfolding in the Cape,’ says Atkin in his report. He adds: ‘Consumers worldwide are becoming increasingly passionate about South African wines.’
