Sunny days and balmy nights, delicious pizza and great wine - the perfect combinations for a good time in the winelands.

All these will be in evidence at this year’s Pizza & Wine Festival, which takes place at Vergenoegd Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, over the weekend of 21 and 22 April (11am to 4pm). The perfect excuse to enjoy a selection of superb wines paired with mouth-watering pizzas and live music.

With its sprawling lawns, and not forgetting the popular duck parade, the festival offers families the ultimate day out in the winelands. Parents use the opportunity to relax and unwind as the kids are kept entertained with a wide selection of fun activities. The variety of pizzas, ranging from gourmet to traditional, Flamenkuchen to Calzones, are guaranteed to add the final touches to what promises to be an unforgettable day.

Explore, taste and savour the selection of fine wines on offer. Take your time as you stroll from one producer to the next picking out your favourite wine tipple of the day. Your favourite may also find pride of place in your home cellar as you may want to purchase a bottle (or two) before you make your way back home.

Tickets cost R60 for children (includes entry, free candy floss and kids entertainment) and R180 per adult. The adult ticket includes entry, a complimentary tasting glass and five wine tasting coupons. Additional wine tasting coupons can be purchased on the day. Taking it up a notch the VIP tickets, which cost R300 each, includes entry, a complimentary tasting glass, unlimited offerings of The Runner Duck White, Red or Rosé wines, exclusive seating area and wine buckets on the tables to ensure your wine stays chilled at all times. Free, secure parking is available on site.

Book directly via www.webtickets.co.za to avoid disappointment as tickets are limited.
